Outpost Buildings are built tougher and stronger than the average kitset, constructed from extra heavy duty, high quality NZ timber framing, and genuine Zincalume or Colorsteel cladding (with a 10-year guarantee).
This makes every kitset not only weatherproof, capable of standing against nearly any weather that New Zealand can throw at them once stained, oiled or painted. They’re incredibly durable against the wear and tear that’s part and parcel of lifestyle and rural life.

Change is a fact of life, so we’ve designed kitsets that can adapt along with your needs.
Our sheds and shelters are designed to be portable, with some needing nothing more than a tractor or a trailer to completely relocate - whether that’s to a better position on your lot, or to a totally new property.
And if you find you don’t need your kitset building anymore? Don’t worry, we won’t be offended. Outpost Building portable kitsets can be sold and easily picked up by their new owner, retaining their value and reducing their environmental impact. What are our sheds and shelters made from?
All Outpost Building kitsets and shelters, from the pole sheds to the horse shelters and everything in between, are manufactured from sustainably grown NZ pine, with all exterior framing treated to the appropriate level for durability.
Wall cladding is typically treated plywood with treated timber battens over the wall joins. The cladding itself varies in thickness depending on the size and use of the building.
Roof cladding is typically Zincalume, with the option of upgrading to Colorsteel Endura for added durability and expanded colour options.
